Netscape 6.2 - Efficiency in Completing
Tasks

Netscape 6.2 has been designed with efficiency in mind, to reduce
the number of steps - and time - it takes to get things done on
the Web.
Here are some of the efficiency features in Netscape 6.2 that save

• Multiple access points to initiate a search, including
the URL bar and Search button in Navigator, the Search tab in My
Sidebar, and the Search Menu in every component of Netscape 6.2.
• Auto complete in the URL bar initiates a search with
one click.
• Search results delivered simultaneously in the main
browser window and in My Sidebar - a Netscape exclusive - give you
complete information and one click access to alternative results
even after visiting other web sites.
• The Search functionality of Netscape 6.2 defaults to
the Netscape Search service, which is powered by the Netscape Open
Directory Project - the #1 search directory - and Google - the #1
search engine. Users can, however, customize search with a choice
of search services or by using several search engines at once.
The Quick Launch feature in Netscape 6.2 helps get you going faster
by dramatically reducing the startup time of the browser
To turn on Quick Launch, open your browser, and go to Edit
| Preferences | Advanced, and click on the "Enable
Quick Launch" checkbox. Note that Quick Launch is designed for
use with a single profile only.
• The Bookmark Management window helps you quickly find the web page you want based on the web page name, its URL, date last visited or other attributes.
• One click "File Bookmark" interface makes it easier to save bookmarks directly into folders.
 • The
History tab in My Sidebar lets you quickly find web pages you have
previously visited.
• The History Management window helps you find previously
visited web pages more quickly based on the web page name, URL,
date visited, or other attributes.
• A streamlined Navigator interface that has fewer main
buttons and toolbars to reduce distractions and give you more space
for your web page.
• New Mail interface includes a startup view that helps
you get started in a particular email account more quickly by providing
one click access to your inbox, account settings, email filters,
and more.
New download interface lets you see where a file has been downloaded
on your computer with one click.
 Automatically
fill an entire web form with important information like your name,
address and more, all in a single action, and not one field at a
time.
When you run into a web page in a foreign language, use the AutoTranslate
feature to automatically translate the text into your native language.
New translation additions: French to German and back, French to
Russian and back.
• Easy access to multiple email accounts allows you to
switch smoothly from your business to your personal identity, and
keep your correspondence separate.
• When writing an email message, start typing a name,
and Netscape automatically offers you a list of possible matches.
Thanks to our Email Address Collection feature, that list includes
addresses from emails you've received, even if you haven't saved
that person's address in your personal address book.
 • Add
extra flavor to your messages with Emoticons: fun "smiley-face"
images to add to your email messages and instant messages.
• Instant Messenger is integrated in all the components
of Netscape 6.2 through the Buddy List tab in My Sidebar, so you
always have access to your online buddies.
• Click a special Instant Messaging icon on a web page
to launch an instant messaging session.
 • Within
email messages, Netscape will indicate if the sender of the message
is online and available for an instant message. Use one click to
send your instant message.
