Working offline means that you download all your Newsgroup articles to your hard drive and
disconnect before reading them.
To work offline: From the 'File' menu, choose 'Offline', then 'Work Offline'. To go
back online, open the 'File' menu and choose 'Offline', then 'Work Online'. The 'Offline'
menu option changes depending on your connection status.
Important. Working offline will prevent Netscape Communicator from attempting to remake
a connection each time you would normally go online. It will not necessarily disconnect your
computer entirely because Windows will maintain the connection for other applications.
To disconnect, click on the telephone icon in your Netscape Online Launcher window or right-click
on the Dial-Up Networking icon (next to the clock on the Windows task bar), then select 'Disconnect'.
Note:This applies only to Netscape 4.x, Netscape 6 does not have
the offline newsgroup options.
